Evotec is the industry leading CRO specialised in integrated Drug Discovery projects. As such we offer our research partners the latest technologies as well as innovative workflow to enable new and improved ways to support project progression. Within the compound management team, we have had to created and adapt workflows to sustain to new demands of AS-MS technologies, complex cell-based assays or proteomics platforms. Working in collaboration with the various Biology and Research informatics teams, the compound management group was able to establish workflows for complex demands from plating compounds in nonstandard layouts to support specific cell-based assays, as well as enabling compound mixtures at high density (several hundreds of compounds per well). These newly designed workflows met the biology’s expectations and provided tests compounds in the required layout which enable huge data point generation from those assays, such proteomics platform or the High Throughput screening platforms based on AS-MS technology, enabling complete large collection to be screened. In this talk I will share how the compound management teams have pushed the boundaries from standard HTS or DMTA cycle of single compound/well screening requests, to the creation of workflows enabling the pooling of 100-600 compounds for ASMS screens and how we are also supporting complex cell assays with randomized layouts within the constraint of the existing automated liquid handling systems as well as some of the restriction from our LIMS system.
