Abstract: Barbara Durling is a Partner at Kilburn & Strode LLP, a firm of patent, design, and trademark attorneys that provides expertise across the intellectual property spectrum. Barbara has particular expertise in the medical device and pharmaceutical services sector, and will speak on the topic of patent filing and prosecution strategies, with a goal of making sure your IP portfolio works for you.
Barbara will explore some of the opportunities and challenges that present themselves when shaping an IP portfolio with commercial objectives in mind and how there is no one size fits all approach.
Barbara’s session will also touch on risk management and when to ‘look up’ from your own portfolio towards the landscape that surrounds your IP and innovation. She’ll present a worked example including when to file, where to go, what to prioritise and how and when to prune, and what to look out for along the way.
